Registration Fees

A one-time administrative fee of $200 charged per user for non-SMART Network registrants.

1.5 hour of training are included with the fee, this includes equipment time and trainer time

SMART Network registrants are defined as registrants who are directly linked with the SMART Network or are working on a project proposed by a member of the SMART Network.

Service Fees

Some groups may prefer to have our trained staff perform work on their samples. The hourly rate is listed below.

Training Fees

For a user to reserve equipment in the LMACS (Laboratory Management & Access Control System) a user MUST be flagged as trained by the staff member in charge of the piece of equipment. To book training on equipment, a user can request training through LMACS.

Hourly Training and Technical Support Fees

Some equipment may have unique training situations where a user is having direct hands-on training for the first few hours but is able to use the equipment with support-supervision for the remainder of the training session. With support supervision the user will be able to ask for periodic assistance in using the equipment and ask general questions.

• Support-supervision is set at $50/hour

When the designed trainer is satisfied that the user is able to use the chosen piece of equipment safely without supervision the trainer will flag the user as Trained in the LMACS system and they are now able to reserve equipment as needed.

Some pieces of equipment may have training that expires after a set amount of years and the user may have have a Support-supervision session after a long lapse in use of equipment in order to ensure the user is able to operate the equipment safely.
