Biolin Scientific KSV NIMA Multi Vessel Small Dip Coater

Device use type: 1

Location: Device Development / Katz 5-055

Description:

Used to apply thin films of various materials onto a substrate surface. It consists of a vertical frame with a motorized arm that can move up and down. It also has the ability to move in a circular motion, providing access to multiple samples that are arranged in a circular pattern. At the end of the arm, there is a substrate holder where the material to be coated is placed. The substrate is then dipped into a container filled with the coating solution and pulled out at a controlled speed. As the substrate is withdrawn, a thin film of the coating solution adheres to the surface. The thickness of the film can be controlled by adjusting the withdrawal speed, the concentration of the solution, and the number of dipping cycles.

Applications:

  • Thin film deposition

  • Surface modification

  • Fabrication of superhydrophobic surfaces, biosensors, microfluidic devices, optical coatings, artificial skin and nanoscale devices

  • Coating of electronic devices
