This document was created to help users change and understand the process types
The femtosecond laser has 3 modes of processes
Galvo
Uses mirrors to move the laser beam in the work area
Limited to 20 x 20 mm
Able to do curves very well
Extremely precise
Fast (30-500mm/s)
Stages
Uses mechanical stepper motors to move the platform while the laser beam remains stationary
Wide work area 150 x 150 mm
Curves may have a small amount of stepping
Slow (5-15mms/)
IFOV (Recommended)
Combines the motion of Galvo and Stages
Wide work area 150 x 150 mm
Able to do curves very well
Can periodically misalign areas (generally very good)
